FLUX is going to participate in Software Freedom Day! This year Stan Fields is in charge of our event, and a message from Stan is below:

YOU, You and you have just volunteered ...

(Sorry if forgot I am no longer a sergeant in the U.S. Army)

Volunteers needed to man our Software Freedom Day display on Saturday 17 Sept. We will also need several computers / laptops running FREE SOFTWARE (Linux and other OS).

It would be nice if several of you could make DVD copies of "Opendisc ver. 10.12".

Last year our event was from 10 AM to about 3 PM and should be about the same this year. 3-4 shifts of 4 people would be ideal.

The event will be held in the public library at Nova Southeastern University in Davie.

Please contact me at stan@gate.net. Please use Subject: SFD volunteer.

Thanks in advance for helping us spread the use of Linux and free software!

SFD is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Our goal in this celebration is to educate the worldwide public about the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business -- in short, everywhere! The non-profit organization Software Freedom International coordinates SFD at a global level, providing support, giveaways and a point of collaboration, but volunteer teams around the world organize the local SFD events to impact their own communities.
